Socially Distant  Kindness Activities
[Coffee and Carpool]

The other day, my kids were complaining they missed their friends.  Of course, they miss their friends.
We're on week 8 of social distancing (with no end in sight)... we're home with very little interaction with the outside world.

No playdates. No sleepovers. No recess at school. Sure our kids can see each other on Zoom calls and chat during Fortnight games (ugh) and can wave as we walk past their friends' houses, but they wanted to connect more.

SLP Corner: Four Early Intervention Teletherapy Activities
[Source: Lessons in Speech with Nanette]

Early Intervention services are appropriate for children from birth until their third birthday. This service delivery model is rooted in training parents to work on developmental goals from speech to physical motor skills during everyday play routines. My experience has taught me that the more practice a child has of any target, the quicker you will witness developmental gains and progress.

School Nurse Corner: Not Just Face Masks & Hand Sanitizer, But Counseling and Care
[Source: School Based Health Care Alliance]

While school district leaders across the country urgently seek protective gear and cleaning supplies, redesign classrooms and bus schedules to enable social distancing, and take other preventative safety measures, they must also place an equally high priority on protecting the mental, emotional, and social health of students-an issue often overlooked in the current debate about school re-openings.
