A Reminder to our
St. Luke’s Friends and Family

With a rise in numbers of parishioners with active cases of Covid, I am again aware that like during any flu or cold season, we need to care for one another with caution.
If you have symptoms or if you have been exposed to Covid, keep your distance, take your medicine, and get good rest.
Because these issues are happening throughout the diocese our Bishop has suggested the following ways to slow the speed of COVID: Get a vaccine if you can, wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth, social distance, avoid large crowds (especially in unventilated areas), test to prevent spreading what you might have, and wash you hands often using hand sanitizer or soap and warm water as they are available.

During these times, our response is not one of fear or doubt or coercion, but one of care and precaution and prevention. Be Safe. Be Thoughtful. Be Blessed.

VESTRY NOMINATIONS

Sunday, January 16th, is the final day to submit names of those who the Lord would want to serve the body of St. Luke’s as a member of our Vestry.

Vestry Nomination Forms are available on the Welcome Board or you can complete the form online by visiting out website.

Christmas break is over for the students in our midst
and the Youth Group will begin meeting this coming Sunday, January 9th, at 6:30 PM in the Teen Center.

Teens from 7th through 12th grades are invited.

See Fr. Andrew if you have any questions.

Changing the Sanctuary's
Seasonal Decorations

The Christmas decorations will be coming down this week, so the poinsettia plants in front of the altar will be available on Sunday to anyone who would like to take one home.
Volunteers can come to help with the change of seasonal décor this Tuesday at 10:00 AM here in the Sanctuary.
We could also use some volunteers after the service today to bring up the boxes for the decorations from the lower-level hall.
We are collecting coats, scarves, gloves, long underwear, and boots for the Peter Maurin Center through the end of January, but now we also need COOKIES!

You can bring your new or gently used clothing to the church and place them in the collection bid in the Foyer.

The cookies, which will be distributed to the homeless at the emergency shelter, need to be homemade, with one or two in a zip-lock bag, along with a scripture or message of love and hope.

Contact the church office if you have any questions.

We will continue with our viewing of Season One of ‘The Chosen’
on Friday, January 14th, at 7:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to share and learn of Jesus’ life and ministry. After each episode, we will have discussions and desserts.

Upcoming Episode Schedule:
Jan 14th - Episode 6, "Indescribable Compassion"
Jan 21st - Episode 7, "Invitations"
Jan 28th - Episode 8, "I Am He"
