Campaign Updates
As we are gearing up for the official launch of our 2019-2020 campaign we have had some early support from a couple of great businesses and our Funded Partners. Grand River Medical Group has started their campaign with their Fall Festival with fun family activities and have planned fun opportunities during their campaign, such as Moody Mondays!. Our Funded Partners have also been hard at work providing their programs, along with advocating to their employees about supporting United Way! More campaign updates to come each month!
Thank you Grand River Medical Group and to all our Funded Partners!
Men's Warehouse Suit Drive
Through the month of July, our Local Men's Warehouse store collected gently used professional attire. This included: suits, vests, sweaters, ties, jackets, and more. Thanks to Men's Warehouse, we were able to share 60 suits with our Funded Partner, Almost Home. Almost Home can utilize this professional clothing with the men that stay at their shelter. These clothes will be used for job interviews and employment! Thank you to Men's Warehouse for providing this collection and making such an impact in our community! We are stronger together! United We Win!
Mark your calendars for our Over The Edge 2020 event for Friday June 26th, 2019! Stay tuned for more information !
Volunteer Opportunities!
Almost Home  will be opening their Guest House Shelter on September 1st and are in search of volunteers! They need help with shifts covering from ranging from 6-11PM or 12AM, 11PM or 12AM-7AM or 8AM. These shifts will include checking in returning guests, intake of new guests, and simply being a support person for guests, and all volunteers will be trained. Not sure if you want to do this alone? Sign up with a friend and volunteer together! Check out this great opportunity and connect with Almost home.
DuRide  is looking for volunteers! 30 volunteers are needed to provide 6-8 rides a month to members who are 65 and older needing transportation to appointments, shopping, social, and other activities. Members and destinations may be in Asbury, Dubuque or East Dubuque. This is a flexible position so check it out now and provide amazing impact in the community. Check out this great opportunity and connect with DuRide.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque  is in search of volunteers, specifically for their Jail and Prison Ministry program where Mentors and Circle of Support volunteers are needed. Both opportunities help ex-offenders establish positive relationships, healthy social activities and more. Check out this great opportunity and connect with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
