Items for Prayer This Week:
This group has been tasked with strengthening the disciple-making ministry of Christ Covenant Church through the development of recommendations regarding our educational culture, Sunday School structure, and small groups ministry. Please join us in praying for this Project Group:
• For Blair Smith as he works with curriculum and teachers for the Summer and Fall sessions,
• For our team as we are moving our focus to small groups,
• That we would speak to the right people to gather information about the current state of small groups,
• That as we gather data we would assimilate it in such a way that will help us to set a vision and plan for small groups at Christ Covenant Church.
• Praise God that the implementation of the new Sunday School model is going well. The classes being offered are excellent. The community connect time is allowing for relationships to be built as well as connections with elders and their shepherding groups to be made.
Fred & Grace Ely
Fred is the Deputy Director of SIM USA, and Grace is involved with international leadership mentoring. Pray for a smooth transition to a new president for SIM USA in 2020. Pray for God’s wisdom and direction in their roles. Pray for strategic involvement in the lives of their adult children and grandchildren.
Persecuted Church around the World: Pakistan
Pray for Christians living in Pakistan where blasphemy laws provide cover for militant Muslims who actively pursue and punish believers who have turned to Christ and left their traditional religion. Pray that God would move the hearts of government leaders to embrace freedom of religion as a basic right. Pray for the courage of Christians as they are the targets of family and community hatred.
Unreached People Group: Azerbaijani in Azerbaijan
With a population of 8,739,000 and only 0.40% are Christians, the majority of the Azerbaijani people are Muslims. Pray for the gospel to be known and churches to be strengthened. Pray for churches and believers to grow in this unreached people group.

Interested in a Short Term Mission Trip?

At Christ Covenant Church we value the partnerships we have with our supported workers. Short term mission trips are formed by the request of a supported worker or a growing church partnership to assist with a specific need. We want to show the love of Christ through helping and serving wherever we go, whether that is domestic or international. Christ Covenant is planning two short term mission trips for 2020. One to Cabo, Mexico and the other to Atlantic City, New Jersey. To learn more about these trips, please visit ChristCovenant.org/2020ShortTermMissions.
