STRONGER TOGETHER, LARGO
Masks are a simple, but critical tactic, in slowing the spread of COVID19. Team Largo members wear a mask for our community because we care about you. Before your next visit to a City facility, make sure to bring your mask to show those around you that you care. We are stronger together, Largo. Just spaced out a bit. NEWS AND UPDATES
PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITY TAMPA BAY
The City has been partnering with a local nonprofit, Community Tampa Bay, to support leadership development and learning on the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Community Tampa Bay may be most well known for their support of youth programs such as ANYTOWN® across our region but their team also facilitates interactive webinars and learning opportunities for all ages including government institutions. Their work promotes empathy and the mitigation of systemic prejudicial attitudes to support their organizational vision of "a community free from discrimination..." Their CEO, Tammy Spratling, notes that they aim to achieve this through doing the "uncomfortable and hard work that is necessary to reach this vision". Community Tampa Bay was recently recognized for their efforts as a 2020 New York Life Foundation Excellence in Summer Learning Award winner, and the City of Largo is proud to work with the Community Tampa Bay team to advance our own efforts at building a more inclusive and equitable organization and community.

LARGO RESIDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ON PAUSE
Largo’s Coronavirus Relief Fund Resident Assistance Program is no longer accepting new applications. The application process will be re-opened if additional funding becomes available. Since October, the City of Largo, along with its non-profit partner, Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation, has assisted 13 households that have had a loss or reduction in income due to the pandemic with housing and utility assistance. The Program has provided continued support to an additional 22 clients that previously had received funding under the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Resident Assistance Program that needed additional assistance. Largo’s previous SHIP Resident Assistance Program also served 13 additional households. Overall, a total 48 Largo households have been served between the two programs. An additional 125 households are currently in the application submission and review process.
