These Midwest candidates will be on our side in Congress
REP. ABBY FINKENAUER (IA-1)
Abby is the second-youngest woman to be elected to Congress and one of the first two women to represent Iowa. In her first term, she has already been a leader in the fight for women's reproductive healthcare. We need Abby to continue the fight for JAC values in Congress.
As a farm owner and former educator, Rita is not afraid to put in the work. Rita's career as a State Senator is characterized by her willingness to reach across the aisle to fight for the health and safety of her community. She will do the same in Congress. This is an open seat and we need to make sure it stays blue.
In addition to fighting for JAC's values, Cindy has been integral in protecting those who are most vulnerable to the long term effects of the COVID-19 crisis. Cindy narrowly beat out the GOP incumbent by less than 2% in 2018. She will face off against the same challenger this year in what promises again to be a tight, tough battle.
Sharice is a fighter. She is a former professional mixed martial artist. During her first term in Congresss, Sharice stood-up for JAC issues, especially reproductive freedom. She made history with her election win as the first openly LGBTQ Native American in Congress and the first Democrat to represent Kansas. KS-3 is the only Democratic seat in Kansas and we must work to protect it.
As a teacher, public servant, and businesswoman, Jill has spent decades fighting for her community and those in need. She has dedicated her career to securing women's access to safe and affordable reproductive healthcare. We can count on her in Congress to stand up for women. She is up against one of the most anti-choice woman in the Congress. Jill is in a tight race. We need Jill's pro-choice voice to protect our reproductive freedom.
Over 20 years ago, Angie challenged Tennessee's anti-LGBTQ adoption rules and won, setting a precedent that granted same sex couples the ability to adopt and raise children in that state. She moved to Minnesota with her partner and adopted children, and has been fighting for JAC values ever since. She faces a tough reelection in a district that Trump carried in 2016. Angie has proven to be a leader in Congress working on the issues we all care about.
