Grab a cup of cheer and join us at Largo Central Park for our Holiday Lights Display! This stunning, family-friendly display will be on nightly from 6-11pm through January 2 and will feature beautiful light displays, a carousel, ferris wheel with a birds eye view of the 70-acre Park and food for sale on site. Cost to view the lights is free. Carousel and ferris wheel rides are $5 each. For more information on our display, call 727-587-6720.
SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK ON UPDATES AT WOODROW PARK
The City of Largo has begun collecting information about what community members would like to see updated in Woodrow Park through an online community survey. Community members are also invited to an interactive neighborhood meeting on Saturday, January 15 from 10am-12pm to provide feedback on updates to Woodrow Park.

Share your feedback on:
  • Park Features
  • Neighborhood Improvements
  • Park Accessibility

The feedback received will be used to prioritize items to be included in the project based on overall community needs and available funding. For more information on this project, visit Largo.com/Projects. For questions or to submit feedback in advance, contact Housing@largo.com or (727)586-7489 ext. 7212.
ADOPT-A-FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Bring joy to a family in need this holiday season. The Adopt-a-Family program by Directions for Living helps families who are living housing unstable, having a hard time making ends meet and worried that little ones may not have gifts to open this year. The number of families in need has more than doubled this year. If you’re able to extend some holiday cheer, view the program page for wish lists and instructions.
LARGO OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS PARADE
Largo's Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade returns on Saturday, December 18 at noon. The neighborhood parade will feature dancers, decorated cars and floats, participation from elected officials, various Largo businesses, non-profits, community organizations, and a special visit by Santa. The parade route begins at the corner of 4th Street SW and 1st Avenue SW, traverses southbound along 4th St SW, eastward along 7th Ave SW, and northward along 2nd Street SW. The procession ends at Ulmer Park with a variety of food trucks.
MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS NEEDED
Do you have access to a vehicle and two hours of time to give? Pick any day that works for you and deliver meals each week from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Volunteers practice physical distancing and do not enter clients' homes. There is an urgent need for volunteer delivery drivers in the area of New Hope Church, 11025 131st St., Largo, FL
LARGO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WINS SUNCOAST SECTION AWARD
On November 18, the City of Largo’s Community Development Department was awarded in the “Best Plan, Report, or Study” Category of the American Planning Association’s Sun Coast Section for the Largo Tri-City Special Area Plan, which was adopted by ordinance in December of 2020. This collective effort adopting the third activity center for the City of Largo was a collaboration between City staff, Kimley-Horn & Associates, Forward Pinellas, Pinellas County, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, Florida Department of Transportation, residents, and businesses. The new standards to support the plan were adopted in March of 2021 into the Comprehensive Development Code. These standards work to create an attractive, sustainable, and economically vital urban destination that incorporates a higher degree of mixed uses, density, and accessibility to multiple modes of transportation. The Community Development staff are honored to receive this award!
