"Cookie" is a lovely female Hound that's about 5-6 years old and weighs about 40lbs. She came to the Shelter after she was found at someone's home. She's a sweet girl that gets along fine with other pets. Cookie is heartworm negative and has been started on prevention.
 
"Roo" is a funny NEUTERED male cat that's about 1-2 years old and weighs 12lbs. He came to the Shelter after he was found at someone's home. He's an active kitty that loves to play!

Serve on a Local or Regional Board or Commission

The best way to learn about your local government is to become part of it. King William County has several Local Boards and Commissions. Take a moment to check them out and see if there's somewhere you'd like to serve. There are also Regional Boards and Commissions which you can become involved in. Download a Community Service Application for a brief description of each. Currently, there are openings on the Economic Development Authority, Local Board of Building Code Appeals, Recreation Commission, Social Services Board, and Wetlands Board.



  • King William County 7-day average number of daily new cases reported as of Jan. 21 - 33.

  • King William County residents have experienced 3,220 cases of COVID-19 since February, 2020 as of January 21, 2022. A total of 80 required hospitalization and 27 passed away. Reference

  • County Government continues to follow a mask policy when dealing with the public and non-vaccinated personnel.
