MadREP Report | February 18, 2021
It's tremendously encouraging to continue to see the metrics on our regional COVID dashboard hold steady or show improvement and Wisconsin has just reported a quarter of a million completed COVID-19 vaccinations. Here at MadREP, we remain hopeful we'll be able to gather together with all of you in person before the end of 2021. Until then, don't hesitate to reach out via phone or email!

We would be remiss if we didn't remind you how important our individual behavior is on the road to economic recovery. Please take care of yourselves. Practice social distancing. Wear a mask. For the latest reopening and recovery resources, be sure to check the MadREP website often.
Data Spotlight: Net Migration
Births, deaths and migration make up the components of population change. A measure of the movement of people, net migration is total in-migration less out-migration to an area. A positive net migration value represents more people entering the geography than leaving it, while a negative value means more people are leaving the area than entering it. Favorable net migration rates can be a positive factor in economic development as it relates to population growth, quality of life, and bringing talent into the labor force. Don't miss next week's GMCC Lunch(UP)date with MadREP President & CEO Jason Fields
Jason Fields will join Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) President Zach Brandon for a wide-ranging conversation about his experience, along with the opportunities and challenges ahead in his new role at MadREP.
Jason M. Fields
We hope you’ll join us next week for GMCC’s Lunch(UP)date, the Madison Chamber program presented by Perkins Coie. On Thursday, February 25 at 12:15 PM - 1:00 PM CST, please log in, take a break and enjoy lunch while staying connected and informed.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to chat with Zach and speak directly to GMCC members,” said Fields. “We’ve all enjoyed experiencing the Madison Region’s growth these last several years and struggled together as the pandemic as waged unprecedented havoc on our nation’s economy. Just as chambers and economic development organizations working together played a pivotal role in our Region’s rise, our collaboration will be imperative as we work towards a swift recovery.”

If you're a Greater Madison Chamber member, don’t forget to register! You can submit, in advance, any questions you may have for Jason or the Chamber at ask@madisonbiz.com.
