President's Message
Happy Halloween!!!

The decorations are popping up everywhere and I am amazed how popular the decorations are now. One of the homes in my area keeps adding to their yard on a weekly basis. It will be a spooky site on Halloween.

Fall is marching forward, and we are seeing some beautiful colors. I visited family outside of Toronto recently and the fall colors were at their peak with bright red maple and beautiful yellow oak trees. This is a great time of year to reflect on the changing seasons and take a deep breath as we move into the busy holiday season. In this process let's look at how we touch patients in our care and how we help them move forward in managing their healthcare.

I want to thank everyone for attending the Annual Fall Conference on October 10th. We were at a new venue this year and want your feedback on the venue. The speakers were dynamic and engaging and several of you commented on the relevant topics and information presented. Thank you for attending the partners booths. They are a big support to WMCMA, and this conference cannot happen without them.

As we move into November it's time for our annual elections for the board. This is your chance to become more involved and support the chapter. There are 4 directors at large positions as well as a secretary and treasurer open. Please take time to consider volunteering. I have been involved for several years and it's been very rewarding.

Our monthly November Lunch & Learn is at Lynnwood Convention Center on November 14. Dr. Chowdhary with be speaking on S-I bone joint.  This will be a very informative talk.

As we move into the busy holiday season, I want to remind everyone of our Annual WMCMA Gives Back and Holiday Party on Thursday December 5th at the Museum of Flight. It is a time for us to celebrate and share our experiences over this past year. We will be collecting food donations for the Food Bank and will have our annual silent auction with the proceeds going to a local charity in the area the membership votes on.  WMCMA has been very generous with our charities in the past and we hope this continues. Please consider sending a charity near and dear to your heart and donate an item to support the charity. Send submissions to Rebekah Burdick at [email protected]. I am working on my donation.

We will have a changing of guard and introduce the new board and a few other surprises. I hope to see you there.
It is not easy being a case manager, but your unique skillset allows you to navigate and manage difficult care transitions in our changing healthcare environment. You are a valuable resource to your organization and to the patients and families you serve. You truly make a difference every day
Thank you for supporting WMCMA

Sincerely.

Kathy Parry, RN BSN, CCM
WMCMA President 2018-2019

WMCMA sends all WMCMA program evaluations and CEs online via email. Attendees should receive an email with the link to the program evaluation and CE instructions within a few days of the CE presentation.  Attendees have one week to complete the evaluation.  Once that one week deadline has passed, attendees who requested a CE will receive the CCM certificate via email.  If you attended our programs and did not receive the evaluation email within a few days, contact us at [email protected] or (425) 329-9456.

Please note that while MOST of our educational programs have CEs attached to them, some don't due to restrictions by the speaker/sponsor. This will be noted in the event information.
