The TDOE is offering Reading 360 Early Literacy Training!

The Tennessee Department of Education is offering early literacy training as part of the Reading 360 Initiative. The summer training will consist of an asynchronous week 1 session and an in-person week 2 session at the Teaching & Learning Academy. Click here to see the course overview for both sessions. Coordinated School Health and Human Resources are partnering to help SCS employees stay active and healthy this spring. Registration is now open for the Orpheum's 2021 Virtual Summer Institute in Arts Integration! (NEW)

The Orpheum Theatre Group is proud to be a Kennedy Center Partners in Education Team in collaboration with SCS. Through this program, the Orpheum brings Kennedy Center teaching artists to work with teachers across the Mid-South. These arts integration specialists are focused on “Creating Engaged Students through the Power of Self-Expression.” Teachers, register here for any or all workshops for $25 each.

Arts integration learning has increased literacy, raised test scores, and help develop key communication skills. In short, arts integration makes learning fun while creating more enthusiastic, creative, and empathetic students. Learn more here.

COVID-19 vaccines are now available for SCS staff & families at the East High School Clinic! (NEW)

Christ Community Health Services School-Based Health Center located at East High School is now offering COVID-19 vaccinations to SCS families, employees, critical support staff, and students aged 18+. Vaccines are available every Wednesday, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., by appointment only. Text the word "Vaccine" to 91999 to make your appointment. View the flyer for more information.
