Cooking Around the World: June 25-28
We focused on cultural cuisines from Italy, Mexico, the Mediterranean and Asia during our cooking camp. We learned about local foods by visiting the Moore County Farmers Market. We concluded the camp with a "Chopped" style challenge where the teams received several mystery ingredients that they then had to utilize in a dish they prepared.

Robotics camp participants learned all about robots! We learned about the specific components of the LEGO Mindstorm EV3. Participants then built and programmed their robots to go through challenge courses. We also invited a guest speaker to come share his knowledge of drones.  The final challenge was for the teams to program their robots to follow a flashlight! (See Video Here)

At the last club meeting, the Growing Farmers learned about pigs and they planted flower seeds for the bees.  The club has twelve 4-H members raising turkey poults to show at the NC State Fair in October. A few of the Growing Farmers members made the trip to NCSU to pick up their market turkey poults last month. The club also participated in the Carthage 4th of July Parade!
