A Note from Scott and Marsha
September 12, 2019
If you spend any time visiting us at the garden center, you may have met Julia. Julia is somewhat new to FGS. She started as a seasonal employee, fell in love with the plants, the beauty and the outdoors.  Lucky for us, we realized she would be perfect for us full time.

One day, I had the privilege of talking to her over lunch and her vibrancy and youth is contagious. She is so smart. She’s an avid researcher and has done a lot of different jobs, all inside, before realizing she wanted to be outside. We don’t know how to explain it but plants just pull you in with their green, their flowers, their cycle of life and beauty! Julia was hooked.

And we are simply hooked and smitten with her too. Her kindness, her smile, and her warm personality will pull you in as well. She has already learned so much and is currently learning our ordering processes. Her contribution and support to Ann, our manager, is a blessing and we are all so excited to have her as part of our team!

Don’t miss a chance to meet Julia in person. You will be as smitten as we are, I promise. And she would love to help you bring green home this fall, too!!
JUDY'S HOUSEPLANT OF THE WEEK
Succulents are the star of the show and for so many reasons. They come in so many different shapes and varieties. Creating a unique, beautiful and easy to care for planter is an absolute breeze. As long as they have plenty of light and drainage, your succulents should be happy! While they do need to be watered, be sure to allow them to dry out completely between waterings.
PUMPKINS, PUMPKINS, and more PUMPKINS
What hails fall's arrival better than the presence of pumpkins... everywhere?!? On your porches, your mantles, your table tops...heck, they are even in your coffee (well, the flavor anyway). And you are in luck because we have a HUGE selection of pumpkins to choose from that arrived this week. Come pick out your perfect pumpkins, and get your fall on!
CAMELLIA SASANQUA
Camellias have the most fantastic flowers, and we are so excited it is nearly time for some of them to burst into bloom. Sasanqua Camellias are fall bloomers that are evergreen, part-shade loving, and come in different colors. Other Camellia varieties will bloom in winter, and some in early spring. For flower-producing shrubs, you can't go wrong with Camellias.
