The Gospel of Matthew, the first book of the New Testament, is an account of rejection and prosecution, judgement and salvation, and communities in flux. Sound familiar?
Our current world has many similarities to this testament, communities in flux, rejection, and judgement. This weekend, we read from the parable of the vineyard, a parable of painful comparisons that reminds us how assumptions often lead to misinterpretation.
It’s a story where some are tempted to compare themselves with those who come late. Are you focusing on when others come? How does that affect our relationships when we are constantly comparing one another? God invites us out of this temptation of painful comparisons and into the reality that God’s generosity if for all of us (yep, even that person you are trying to mute, block, or unfriend on Facebook!)
Join us this weekend as we hear the depth of God’s grace. Whether you’re in need of grace yourself or in need of sharing grace with someone else, come and worship- all are welcome and God’s grace is abundant!
