An over-reliance on technology and fast-paced, stressful lives are obstacles to mindfulness that can be skillfully managed. In this session, we'll discuss how to do one's best at work while honoring one's health and offer guided practice in easily practiced skills.

MTRC's Coffee and Connect is hosting the summer meeting of the Empire State Advanced Robotics Alliance. ESARA is a state-wide group that seeks to build a strong, well-connected robotics ecosystem in New York. Membership is free, and meetings are open to interested manufacturers, researchers, and automation technology suppliers. Come learn more about robotics applications on the manufacturing floor, help brainstorm automation solutions with the group, and network with others interested in industrial automation.

Workforce Development Initiative Grant Funding
|
|
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced the launch of the Workforce Development Initiative, which invests $175 million statewide for workforce development to support strategic regional efforts that meet businesses' short-term workforce needs, improve regional talent pipelines, enhance the flexibility and adaptability of local workforce entities, expand apprenticeships and address the long-term needs of growing industries.
The Workforce Development Initiative (WDI) will invest $175 million through a newly created Consolidated Funding Application (CFA), targeted to workforce investments. The awarded CFA projects will support strategic regional efforts that meet businesses’ short-term workforce needs, long-term industry needs, improve regional talent pipelines, enhance the flexibility and adaptability of local workforce entities, and expand workplace learning opportunities.

The Workforce Development Initiative is made up of three major components:
1.
The WDI will have $175 million of dedicated funding across multiple state agencies/authorities that will be made available through one or more Consolidated Funding Application (CFA)
2.
Regional Economic Development Councils (REDCs) will play a role in selecting projects in accordance with their region’s economic and workforce development plans
3
.
Project plans and applications will be accepted on a continual basis beginning on May 8, 2019

Nominate them for the Millennials in Manufacturing Awards for a chance to win up to $2,500 and be featured in a FuzeHub publication and other marketing materials.

CyberSecurity Assistance Grant
|
|
DoD Manufacturers:
The Advanced Institute for Manufacturing (AIM) is willing to assist small and medium manufacturers throughout New York State with department of defense contracts in meeting their DFARS cybersecurity requirements based on NIST 800-171 Special Publication. This includes assistance in cybersecurity risk assessments, project implementation for IT infrastructure, policy development, and employee training, and follow-up assessments with compliance letters that can be used to show contractors that requirements are being met. Up to 90% of project cost may be awarded, per eligible company.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 30, 2019

Non-DoD Manufacturers Cybersecurity Gap Assessment Matching Award:
Phase I: Manufacturers can qualify for a $3,000 award to match the cash investment toward the cybersecurity gap assessment proposal that you choose. MTRC can connect you to a cybersecurity provider or you can choose one that you are interested in. Once the gap assessment proposal is completed, MTRC will review the assessment with you and discuss award process.
Phase II: Once you have completed the proposal process and begin any implementation, MTRC can review the next phase of investment to become cyber compliant and seek to award up to 30% back to the company.
Deadline: Funding for this award will no longer be available September 30th, 2019.
