Family First Sunday
Sunday, September 8
|
Each month Christ Church specifically focuses on family worship. With families so busy all week long, getting to church each and every Sunday may be a struggle. We know that, and that's how
Family First Sunday
was conceived. It is one designated Sunday each month that families can set aside and make family worship a priority.
A family-first focus enables Sunday school children to become acquainted with one another through combined lessons, crafts, and activities. Parents and grandparents have the opportunity to socialize and connect.
This Sunday we'll be making our own clay pots!
All families meet in the day school's science lab (Room #3) at 9:30 a.m. - children will return to church at 10:30 a.m.
The professionally- staffed
nursery is open
every Sunday, for children from birth to 3 years, from
7:45 -11:30 a.m
. in
Clare's Cottage
.

Teen Tuesday is Back
Tuesday, September 10 - 7:00-8:30 p.m.
|
Teen Tuesday is a time for youth to gather and deepen their faith and relationships with friends
. Do you like laser tag, movies, and rock climbing?! Have you been on retreat to Camp Stevens or been locked in a Cathedral for a giant sleepover with youth from all over the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego? Throughout the year, the youth group will have many opportunities that are just plain fun.Our
Middle School group meets on the first and third Tuesday each month. The High School group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays.
We gather in the Youth and Family Ministry center for dinner, conversation, games and programming. There are usually sour gummy worms, and we often finish with foosball
!

Organ Crawl
Saturday, September 14
|
All are welcome to attend the Organ Crawl sponsored by The San Diego Chapter of the American Guild of Organists
Saturday, September 14 from 9:00 a.m. to noon in Coronado
. Christ Church is the sponsoring church where everyone will meet and then visit four churches on the island, finishing here with a demonstration of our pipe organ.
After meeting over coffee and snacks, the Crawl will head to Resurrection Lutheran Church for a German breakfast and a demonstration of their acquisition of a Baroque-style pipe organ re-purposed from another congregation. We’ll then go to Sacred Heart Catholic Church to hear their
dazzling Ruffati organ, built in Padua, Italy. After a visit to Graham Memorial, we’ll conclude in our beautiful church and then retire for a light lunch buffet in Hinde Hall.
We’re looking for some volunteers who might be willing to share some time, along with a golf cart or three, to ferry some of our senior visitors around town during our time together. If you’d like to help, please contact
Geoffrey Graham
at or 619-990-2903 if you wish to leave a message or a text.

Sunday Supper Returns
Sunday, September 15 - 5:00 p.m.

Some of the best moments of connection happen around the family dinner table. Deep questions and silly topics provide the opportunity to share pieces of ourselves with each other. Imagine having that same opportunity with your Christ Church Family. We will meet in
Hinde Hall at 5:00 p.m.
for a delicious meal that is sure to appeal to all ages. We will share the Word and prayers around the table and have communion as part of our time together. This comforting, engaging, and open experience is sure to become something you look forward to all month!
Please call
the parish office at 435-4561 or contact

Helping Fill the Pantry
St. Mark's, City Heights
|
St. Mark's in City Heights serves a diverse population, one which is often food insecure. The food in their pantry makes a difference for low income seniors, refugee families, and their unhoused visitors. You can support their ministry by bringing non-perishable food to church on Sunday, we transport the donations to St. Mark's.
In the month of September they are specifically requesting pasta and pasta sauce.

A Season of Prayer and Listening
Join in the novena
|
Bishop Susan is calling for a Season of Prayer: Seeking God’s Vision for the Diocese. She invites us to
join in a novena from September 14 through September 22.
A novena is an ancient tradition of Christian devotional prayer, consisting of private or public prayers repeated for nine successive days, often with a special focus or intention. She asks us to pray that God will open to us vibrant possibilities for mission, focused in ministry areas of discipleship, evangelism, and service.
A prayer guide
that
offers focus scriptures, prayers, and reflection questions for each of the nine days of this Season of Prayer is available at the
diocesan website
, or printed copies are available at the Welcome Center.
After the novena, Bishop Susan
will hold a series of listening sessions around the diocese to hear the hopes, dreams, and visions of the people in our church for the next few years.
