Jeremy on the Beach
Dear Friends,

Although this summer's weather has been rainy and cold, it has been bright and sunny here at JSRF. We are delighted to announce that we have officially sponsored 10 teenagers so far this summer!

Thanks to your continued generosity and your support at our JSRF fundraisers, six of these teens attended YMCA resident camps, and four teens attended Hoopsters Basketball camp.

Two of the resident camp recipients are

Camp Jorn Sign

currently enjoying two weeks for the first time at Camp Pinewood in Michigan, while four of them enjoyed a first time experience at Camp Jorn in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

In total, we sponsored 4 girls and 6 boys. Thank you JSRF friends for giving these teens a chance to Experience Hope!

Race Day is quickly approaching! With less than 50 days remaining there is still plenty of time to start training with us on Tuesday evenings. Come enjoy a peaceful WALK or an invigorating RUN at the Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda, IL.

As you walk along the trails, enjoy the vibrant colors of nature as you are surrounded by lush vegetation, and watch the deer walking quietly through the forest. With the scent of honey suckle filling the air you instantly forget that what you are doing is actually good for you. As an added bonus at the end of the training we are always greeted by a beautiful sunset ... a reminder that our loved ones are smiling down on us.

Remember a 5K is only 3.1 miles, so if you prefer to skip the training, go directly to Jeremy Stom Remembrance Foundation and sign up today!

If you know of any person or any business interested in sponsoring our 5K RUN/WALK please please email us ASAP at [email protected] . T-shirts will go to print soon and we are still in need of sponsors.

Overdose Awareness Day

Stop Overdose IL

Did you know that every day in the US, 100 people die from drug overdoses? In Illinois, more people die from drug overdoses than car accidents. Hard to believe, but true.

Saturday, August 24th is Overdose Awareness Day, a day of remembrance, hope and action. Join us at 1:00pm at Roosevelt University Schaumburg Campus Rotunda and help us spread awareness! For more information, visit their event page.

Our Mission

Empowering under-resourced adolescents to Experience Hope by sponsoring participation in recreational activities enabling them to learn life survival skills and grow independently, spiritually, and intellectually.

Our Vision
JSRF believes that giving adolescents an opportunity to gain self-awareness through recreational activities will help them reach their full potential. Take A Stand Awareness Walk

Rainbow Halo

On July 27th, JSRF participated in the 2nd Annual Take a Stand (TAS) Awareness Walk. Despite the cold weather the Walk was another successful event.

At this year's event, we were humbled and surprised to receive special recognition from TAS.

In memory of both our sons Jean and Jeremy, TAS presented us a beautiful picture taken during last year's event of a rainbow encircling the sun.

It has been truly an honor for us to work the courageous women and men on the TAS crew.
