Hospital of the Year Award for Hospitalists Group
On Monday, June 17 the Apogee hospitalists at McLaren Northern Michigan were awarded the Hospital of the Year at the annual summit held in Asheville, North Carolina. The Hospital of the Year award is given to only one hospital each year that demonstrates a trusted and respected relationship between the hospital, hospitalists, and Apogee senior leadership that is rooted in a mutually shared goal for excellent patient care.
“We recognize that ‘hospital’ is 70% of the word ‘hospitalist’ and that an engaged hospital team is integral in creating an environment for our providers to succeed,” stated Dennis Klein, DO, Apogee Division I President. “At McLaren Northern Michigan, we found a hospital that collaborates at all levels for improved patient and provider-focused care, and a hospital that creates and supports an environment of continual improvement.”
Apogee Physicians Group came to McLaren Northern Michigan in October 2016 providing a full staff of hospitalists. A hospitalist is a provider who specializes in providing and managing the care and treatment of hospitalized patients. Hospitalists act as the primary care provider for patients, overseeing the full care.
