This Week at the Levitt Pavilion
Sept. 13-15
Los Garcia Brothers bring their crazy cool conjunto with their z oot suits and fedoras

Friday: Prophets and Outlaws make their way back to the Levitt at 8 p.m. presented by
FW Weekly. This Dallas Southern soul band has shared a decade together and five EPs featuring their commanding instrumental groove, relatable lyrics and authentic five-part harmonies that have sent them to the top of the music charts and earned the band more than 2 million Spotify streams. They have performed at some of the most significant events in Texas, including the renowned Larry Joe Taylor Music Fest and Dallas' American Airlines Center on New Year's Eve.

Saturday: After a rained-out concert date during the summer concert season, Zane Williams has a rescheduled concert at 8 p.m. presented by Paragon Eye Associates. Respected by his fans, The Zaniacs, Zane is a down-to-earth family man, a charismatic entertainer and a prolific songwriter. Equal parts bar-room entertainer and introspective poet, his songs seem to come straight from the heart as he sings about real life in a way that real people can relate to.

Sunday: Most Texans are familiar with Tejano music, but may not be as familiar with the term "conjunto." The popular artists performing at 8 p.m. are known for Tejano and conjunto with an added flair. Los Garcia Brothers also are known for their "pachuco" style (colorful zoot suits and feathered fedoras). Conjunto music is Texas "roots" music that dates back to the end of the 19th century. Like blues and traditional country, it tells the stories of the everyday lives of the working class. It's also dance music, characterized by a strong beat and bright accordion melodies.  Jimmy Garcia started Los Garcia Brothers in 1990. In 2001, they took home Album of the Year in the conjunto category at the Annual Tejano Music Awards and named the Most Promising Band. The following year, the Tejano Music Awards once again awarded Los Garcia Brothers with the Conjunto Album of the Year before the untimely death of their 27-year-old founder in a car crash. Jimmy's brother, Joey Garcia, kept the band playing, and in 2013, Los Garcia Brothers was inducted into the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame. Their concert is made possible by a grant from the Arlington Cultural Tourism Council.
