Message from the Chair
Hope you and your family/friends are enjoying the change to routine that the summer brings.
The BWGC began its summer with the 5
th
Anniversary Celebration Event on June 12th. Thank you to the Network and Education Committee for their work in hosting a fantastic lunch that allowed us to meet the pillars of our mission to
Invest, Connect and Inspire
. We celebrated our $230,000 of investments in programs that empower girls in STEM. We connected with over 100 guests, grantees and members, and we inspired 40 individuals to participate in the power of collective philanthropy.
I want to welcome our newest members to the Circle and remind everyone that t
he 2019 Grant Pool closes soon. We hope you will add your name to the list of renewed members today. This year's goal is to grow the grant pool to $70,000- that's 70 members. We have 58 and need just 12 more renewals to have maximum impact this year! Please
renew
today!
Next we turn our attention to the heart of our work, the grants selection process. Thank you to co-ch
airs
Amy Kay
and
Tessie Wilson
for their thoughtful leadership of the Grants Committee that kicks off in September.
But before the summer closes (and BWGC work resumes), we hope to share a drink with you at an upcoming pop up social on Aug 22
nd
. Please see the link below to RSVP.
Thank you for your support and enjoy the rest of the summer!!
Sincerely,

Capacity Building and Engagement Committee
Leveraging our Leadership
Connections are being made among our grantees because of our intentional outreach and capacity building efforts. ReSET recently announced (left center) a new partnership with Wesley Housing to bring "out of school time" STEM programs to Wesley Housing sites. They credited our giving circle's work for this collaboration. This is a great example of how we can do more than give by leveraging our leadership to provide even greater impact in the community we serve.

Thank You for a Wonderful Fifth Anniversary Luncheon Celebration and Fundraiser!
|
|
Networking and building community was a major highlight of the event, resulting in many new and renewed business and personal connections. To date
we have received over $30K in the form of new memberships, membership renewals, and one-time donations
, and anticipate further growth in the form of donations and corporate matches.

Renew Your Membership
We are very excited to kickoff our 2019 Grant Pool and look forward to having members renew before the end of summer. We will be highlighting new members at upcoming events and look forward to seeing you all there.

The BWGC
inspires
others to join the power of collective philanthropy. An individual gift of $1,000 to any organization is helpful but our collective grants have
impact!
Our goal for 2019 is to get to 70 members and provide over $70,000 in grants to our next grantees.
