The State Board of Education (SBE) has adopted rules regarding basic education instructional hours and days. These rules ensure that distance learning time counts toward the total instructional hours and days required under the program of basic education. The new rules require submission of the reopening plan as part of the regular basic education compliance reporting.
Form Package 600 in iGrants will be available the first week of August. Submissions must be received two weeks before school starts (no later than September 15). Local education agencies must complete both Form Package 600 and the
online reopening template that OSPI has launched. SBE will confirm completion of the reopening plan as part of our basic education compliance review.
