Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Dear Hart Families,

It has been a full week at Hart!  I have enjoyed visiting classrooms this week and watching each class continue to build strong learning communities, practice procedures and expectations, as well as jump into all the learning. It is easy to tell from the energy in each classroom that this really is going to be the best year at Hart!

We sure enjoyed celebrating Dr. Goddard's birthday yesterday and wearing Disney or Lovejoy shirts. Many even got to give him a birthday high five when he stopped by.

Officer Aguirre returned to campus this week after attending School Marshal training last week.  It is great to have him back with us!!

Reminder to all families that we do not have school on Monday.  We hope everyone has an enjoyable long weekend!

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

School Dismissal Manager is off and running. We have found that your initial login should be done on a laptop or desktop. If you have not logged in and set your default transportation, please do so as soon as possible. Your default dismissal is your typical way of transportation. An exception will need to be created ONLY if there is a change to the normal way of transportation. Please do not email the teacher dismissal changes. Please email Heather (heather_bouska@lovejoyisd.net)  After September 3, 2019 all dismissal changes will need to be made through School Dismissal Manager.  PLEASE NOTE... The office will create the exceptions for all after school activities (ie Spanish, Watch Me Sculpt, Engineering, etc).

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR POWER SCHOOL - The PowerSchool Portal is open for you to complete the online enrollment student forms. Please take a few minutes to update your contact information, emergency contacts, authorized pick, FERPA, SCOC, Student Handbook, etc.  This is done at the beginning of each school year.

PLEASE NOTE: Regarding the Release of Directory Information for School Use: In order for your child's picture to appear in the yearbook, you should answer "Yes"

All students have had a chance to visit the library and check out books this week!  Students are choosing books of their choice to read in class and/or at home. Check with your child to see what books they checked out! We know reading every day shows a strong correlation to vocabulary expansion, memory improvement, stress relief, improved focus, stronger writing skills, and knowledge. Not to mention the fact that children learn to read by reading every day!

Each week students can check out up to 5 books of their choice.  We recommend all students in younger grades to bring back books each week on the day their class goes to the library so they can get new ones. Students that need more than one week to read longer chapter books have up to two weeks. If the older students need a bit more time to finish a book, they are welcome to renew their books. Please remember to remind your child to pack their books on their library day! We encourage students that check out popular books to bring them back as soon as they are finished so others can enjoy them as well!

Message from the Nurse:

We are currently seeing a summer cold with predominate symptoms of fever (lasts about 12-24 hours), sore throat, headache, stomach ache. We are also seeing a rise in allergies due to the ragweed and other pollens. Nurse Alli likes to track any illnesses and known diagnoses so please email her or specify in the comment section when you mark your child absent due to illness. This is greatly appreciated!

Please remember your student must be free from fever without medicine, diarrhea, or vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school to prevent illnesses from spreading. Fever is considered 100.0 or greater. If your child is absent from school, written documentation is needed. Please email Alis_Brantl@lovejoyisd.net and Heather_Bouska@lovejoyisd.net with the date and reason for the absence. You can also use the School Dismissal App to report an illnesses. Thanks for all you do at home to keep your children healthy and in school.

If your child has physical restrictions from activity, please email Coach Eric Hill, eric_hill@lovejoyisd.net. Contacting Coach directly will ensure the limitation is noted and alternate plans can be made.
Thank you!

Nurse Alli J

Receive Text Messages from Lovejoy ISD
Lovejoy ISD is adding text messaging capability to SchoolMessenger, the system we use for phone calls and email communications for information such as school closings due to inclement weather. SchoolMessenger will be configured to send text messages to your wireless phone number(s), with your approval.

To get started, please confirm we have your accurate wireless phone number in the PowerSchool Parent Portal and then opt-in to participate by following the directions below:

In order to receive messages from Lovejoy ISD or your student's school via SMS text we must have your wireless number(s) in SchoolMessenger and receive an "Opt-In Confirmation" from your wireless device.

You can easily opt-in by simply sending "Y" (or "Yes"), via text message, to our SchoolMessenger Short Code number 67587.

The wireless number(s) you enter into the PowerSchool Parent Portal are updated nightly. If you update your wireless number, or add a new number, in the PowerSchool Parent Portal, the new number will automatically be sent an Opt-In message.

To access the PowerSchool Parent Portal, please click here.  If you have any questions, or if we may be of any assistance, please contact Stacey Dillon at 469.742.8003.
