CALLING ALL MADRICHIM!!

Dear Congregation Sha'aray Shalom Students:

The Jewish New Year and start of school is quickly approaching, a time to recommit to putting our values into action. Teaching and learning are among our highest values and a wonderful way to connect to Judaism and our community. We want to invite you to share what you have learned with the younger students at Congregation Sha'aray shalom by becoming a teaching assistant (madrichim) at our school this year. Madrichim are essential to the education of our students and the support of our teachers.

Teaching assistants will receive training in teaching and behavior management...skills which are very helpful as they move through life. This year, the Madrichim program will be coordinated and supervised by Julie Fox. Being a madrich will provide you with valuable classroom skills that you can use in other situations. You may want to consider a career in education, or you may need to train co-workers in new skills in a wide variety of professions.

For students entering their 7th grade year, volunteering as a student assistant (macrichim) can be used to fulfill your Mitzvah Project requirement. Volunteering also can fulfill any school community service requirements you might have.

Most of all, our teen madrichim infuse our school with vitality. You bring a special energy and perspective to the younger students. You are role models for them. Your enthusiasm inspires them. Your success encourages them. Your humor and patience comfort those who may be struggling.

In short, we need you!! Please join us this year.

I hope you will consider returning this year or joining our teacher assistant program..

Please let me know as soon as possible.

Thank you!
