Dear Friend,

Today is Volunteer Appreciation Day, an international holiday to honor the many people who work hard to help others without expecting anything in return. Volunteers are integral to the services Irving Cares provides and perform many roles, including:

  • Food Pantry volunteers are needed five days a week (Monday-Friday) to help local families who require food assistance. Volunteers sort grocery donations, stock shelves, and fill food orders.
  • Invest in Yourself volunteers provide assistance involving employment, education, financial assistance and skills coaching. Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays.
  • Volunteer “Coaches” counsel clients and refer them to appropriate services.
  • Event volunteers have the opportunity to participate in special events while helping with setup/teardown, registration, greeting guests, and other tasks.
  • Administrative volunteers support staff by creating files, placing courtesy calls, data entry, and other tasks.

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the
grandest intention.” Oscar Wilde

If you would like to join one of the best groups of volunteers in Irving, please fill out an application today. Irving Cares provides training for volunteer roles, and has adopted safety protocols to protect our clients, staff, and volunteers.

To our entire community of volunteers: for everything you do… thank you! You are more important than you know, and we appreciate your dedication to helping your neighbors in Irving.

Gratefully,

Kyle Taylor
