WMC Foundation Business & Industry Luncheon
Tuesday, October 8th
10:30AM - 1:00PM
The 2019 Business & Industry luncheon will feature discussions on Wisconsin economic direction, the state of Wisconsin’s business community and the crowning of the 2019 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin. 
The 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Yahara Riverfest is on Saturday, September 7th at Conservancy Commons Park in DeForest from 12:00pm - 4:30pm!

Come down for some wonderful family activities and enjoy food, entertainment and the infamous duck race in the Yahara River!

Open House
Sunday, September 8th from
1:00-3:00PM

The  Hansen-Newell-Bennett House,  is located at 119 East Elm St. in DeForest and includes several permanent displays, including historical information on the early schools, churches, and businesses in the area. 
Rooms on the first floor - parlor, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom - are interpreted from the early 1900's period, before the advent of electricity. A small garage on the property houses artifacts that relate to transportation, farming and gardening implements.

10th Annual DeForest Public Safety Family Fun Night
Tuesday, September 10th, from 5:00-7:00PM at Fireman's Park

DeForest Public Safety Family Fun Night is an opportunity to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood camaraderie.

This year’s festivities will include free food (while supplies last), raffle prizes, crime prevention information, children’s games/activities, and other exhibits from the DeForest Police Department. This event will include participation from the DeForest Police Department, DeForest Windsor Fire Department and EMS, and other local law enforcement agencies.

Citizens will be able to tour squad cars, fire apparatus, and ambulances. Visitors will also have a chance to meet and talk with local Officers, Firefighters, and EMT's.
Brews & Bites on Thursday, September 12th from 5:30-8:30PM at Fireman's Park

The Village of DeForest Parks & Recreation presents the second Brews & Bites of the season in Fireman's Park. This event is sure to have something for everyone!

Bring your lawn chairs, spread out your blankets and enjoy an evening of live music by Dig Deep

An assortment of local craft beers, hard cider and non alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase, along with food options.

The American Legion Post 348 will be having a Brat Bust on Saturday, September 14th from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm in the Pick-N-Save parking lot!

Chamber Networking Event
Tuesday, September 17th from 4:00-6:00PM at Rodeside Grill
Our Chamber Networking Events will be on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 4-6 pm!

Come and get to know other Chamber members and create a network of friends and colleagues to collaborate with and make connections!

Design & Construction Updates
DeForest Area Intermediate School The conceptual images of the latest floor plan and an exterior rendering of the new intermediate school.  It is important to remember that these are conceptual images, not completed designs.  The intermediate school design will continue to evolve as the design team meets with staff to further develop plans and ensure budgetary alignment. 

Features of the new Intermediate School include:
  • Core instructional areas organized into Small Learning Communities, which include classrooms, small group instructional spaces, collaboration space and student and staff resource areas
  • “Social stairs” (a versatile space for students to gather, meet and learn)
  • Art, music and maker spaces
  • Three-station gym 
  • Separate bus and parent drop off / pick up loops
  • Layers of security integrated into the school’s design




DeForest Area High School
It is important to remember that the floor plans and exterior renderings are conceptual images, not completed designs. It is likely that these plans will evolve over time as the design and construction team continues to gather feedback from staff to further develop plans and ensure budgetary alignment.

Features of the High School addition and renovations include:
  • Enlarged student commons and cafeteria
  • Renovated science wing with new classroom, laboratory space
  • Renovated library with integrated media lab and small group instruction spaces 
  • Renovated large group instruction area 
  • New three-station gymnasium
  • New pool with locker room facilities, spectator seating, and public access 
  • And more

4th Annual WindsorFest Celebration
on Saturday, September 28th!

A nod to the past, a celebration of the present and a look to the future!

Help us celebrate the agricultural history of the Windsor Community with the 4th Annual WindsorFest Celebration!

This wonderful family event will have many free family activities, entertainment and special events, like a kickball game with Law Enforcement versus Fire & EMS, with the help of children present and ready to play! Watch Smokey the Bear make his way through the obstacle courses and maybe even up the Rock Wall! A petting farm, pony rides, carnival style games and family stage entertainment!

We are looking for sponsors to help make this event a wonderful time for kids of all ages! If you are interested in sponsoring or participating in the WindsorFest celebration, please contact the Chamber!

All sponsorship include the opportunity to enter the Scarecrow decorating contest which is judged by event goers - so be creative!
