Current Alley and MLK Street Closures
This week we were advised by the developer of the following street closures due to the hotel construction at MLK and San Antonio St.:
The alley from MLK to 21st St. that runs behind the church/along the blacktop and gym parking areas will be closed Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., until August 23.
The two westbound lanes of W. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. immediately adjacent to the construction site (from the alley to San Antonio St.) will be closed Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., through August 23, as well.
As with any construction project, these are estimates from the developer, and you may not find these closures taking place every day or for the exact times listed.
Additionally, the City of Austin Right of Way office let us know that the lane closures at MLK and Nueces for the wastewater rehab project will be in place until August 3.
The City also said that the reduction of MLK to two lanes on the weekends in this same area should end on July 27.
