Fall is around the corner and it's time to celebrate/mourn the beginning of school, depending on your perspective! Now that students are heading back to school, check out special events for our littlest library lovers, like all our wonderful early literacy classes and storytimes.

For students, save the date for our always-popular fall ACT test prep sessions!
 
Please note: 
Libraries are closed Sunday, 9/1 and Monday, 9/2 in observance of Labor Day. 
The New Prague Library will be closed on Sat 9/21 for the Dozinky Festival.
Upcoming Happenings
Monthly STEM events at the Savage & New Prague Libraries!
Drop-in to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and/or Math with fun, hands-on activities! For preschool/early elementary with their parents/caregivers; no registration required. STEAM Explorers at Savage  begins Sat 9/7 from 1:30-2:30pm and continues the first Saturday of each month.
STEM Night at New Prague begins Wed 9/25 from 6:00-7:00pm and continues one Wednesday evening each month.


Afternoon Academy for ages 9-13
Three engaging classes taught by Krista & Barb of ExEd Homeschool. The classes are free but space is limited, so register in person, online, or by phone:

Guess what? We're having a Yule Ball again on New Year's Eve! This time it's at the Savage Library and there's a separate event for kids & families AND an event for teens! Of course we're having Hogwar ts Prep workshops again and even adding some events for adults! Not all the events are entered yet, so keep obsessively clicking HERE to see what's been added (or just wait until later in September all our events will be loaded).

Fall Readmobile Visits 
The Readmobile will deliver learning, literacy, and fun during our fall visits in Belle Plaine, Prior Lake, and Shakopee. Check the Readmobile page for more information and the schedule of visits - fall schedule will be posted on 8/23!
The Readmobile vehicle and start-up collection were funded by the Diane J. Sachs Trust and a grant from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.

Fall Early Literacy Classes & Storytimes 
Begin Soon! 
Early literacy is what your child needs to know about reading and writing before they learn to read & write. Let the library help develop your child's early literacy skills with the five practices of Talk, Sing, Read, Write, & Play with our Early Literacy classes and storytimes beginning again in September!

Anime Club at the Prior Lake Library
Love Anime and Manga? Get together with other otaku to watch Anime, talk about what you're reading, draw, write, play games and eat snacks. We meet the first Thursday of the month at 6pm. No need to sign up, this event is open to everyone. 

Registration opens 9/5 for ACT Test Prep
