The date and agenda will be announced soon.
WestDef 2019 Update

The Western Canadian Defence Industries Association would like to thank everyone for their interest in WestDef 2019. Due to the current restructuring of our management team and board, we have decided to use this opportunity to establish priorities and set a new strategic plan over the summer. With these activities underway and the federal election taking place in September, we have decided to defer the 2019 event and host a revised WestDef next year.

WCDIA will still be hosting networking events and our SMB focused “Getting in the Game” workshops in BC and AB in 2019, so please make sure to stay connected through our newsletter and website.

We are grateful for all your support while we transition and look forward to serving you and your business in the future.
"Getting in the Game" Workshop
How to do Business in the Defence Industry
ITB's for Small to Medium Business (SMB’s)

The capital portion of Canada's Defence budget is slated to grow from $4B/yr to $10B/yr over the next decade. Government policy requires that 15% of this value be directed to Small to Medium Businesses. This means Defence contractors will be looking for up to $1.5B/yr of input from small companies.

Is your company prepared for this opportunity?

When:  2 day workshop. September 17 - 18, 2019, 8:30am - 4:30pm
Where:  Calgary, Location to be confirmed
Price:  $899 (+GST) for WCDIA Members / $999 (+GST) for Non-Members ( For up to 2 company reps )
What will be Learned: Understand the federal policy that ensures Canadian small business and public institutions benefit from military procurement, develop your value proposition to harness these opportunities and gain “hands on” experience with a small group of prime contractors applying the lessons learned for “getting in the game” while
receiving valuable feedback directly from industry.

Testimonials:
"We were able to use the skills learned during the Getting in the Game workshop to our immediate advantage. We hit it off with a major defence prime right away and were meeting in their Calgary offices less than a week later to discuss our ideas. It was well worth our investment." - In-Flight Data, Alberta based SMB

“Getting in the Game” lived up to its promise, providing the background and understanding that allowed us to secure our first defence industry contract. Highly recommended!”
