It's been a while, but we have a new episode of Let's Have a Conversation ready for listening. In this installment, Director Bob Friend connects with Joey Cordero to  learn more of his story as a parent in the child welfare system, and how the successful resolution of the matter and subsequent reunification with his young daughter led to a life and career change that has evolved to helping other fathers successfully navigate the child welfare system experience.   Episode 9, Iron Sharpens Iron, can be found on our main website, www.familypermanency.org, on the podcast platform Anchor, as well as 7 other platforms including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Speaking of our website, we have been continuing to add and adjust content. We invite you to view our training menu, trainer bios, and you can of course, listen to our podcast soon our media page. We will continue to refine the look of our site, so please let us know if you have any thoughts or suggestions.

Next, The 2020 Training Institutes, is looking for proposals. The deadline for submission will be Sept 16th, 11:59pm EST.  This year's theme is #WhatCouldBe: Bolder Systems & Brighter Futures for Children, Youth, Young Adults & their Families, challenging us to build on existing delivery systems for children's services with new ideas and approaches. 
 
Finally, the Kempe Center's International Conference on Innovations in Family Engagement is open for registration. This conference will be held in San Diego, CA from November 19-22. View all the workshops and presentations being offered in the conference brochure and take advantage of the Early Bird Registration, sale ends October 14th. The conference was pleased to secure Associate Commissioner Jerry Milner's agreement to provide a keynote address on Thursday November 21!!  Please distribute this announcement to your colleagues, and who can disagree with a trip to San Diego in November?
