Walnut Bend Kickoff Event 9 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10

Join us at 9 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, near the intersection of Walnut Bend Lane and Richmond Avenue when we'll celebrate beginning of construction on our long-anticipated $20 million project to rebuild Walnut Bend Lane.

Representatives from Westchase District, the City of Houston and other local government officials will be on hand to mark the start of the project, which is expected to take about 20 months to complete. The event, which will also feature Kerr High School's drum line, is free and open to the public. Learn more and RSVP  so we can save a cupcake for you.

Construction is underway between Westpark Drive and Richmond Avenue. Motorists and residents will experience intermittent lane closures. Some businesses may experience limited access, but their properties will always have at least one driveway open. There is absolutely no on-street parking for the duration of this project. Vehicles parked in the construction zone are subject to being towed and impounded.

The end result will be worth it. In addition to a completely rebuilt 4-lane roadway, improvements will include pedestrian lighting, dedicated bike lanes, custom bus shelters, extensive landscaping, bike racks, benches and signage.
