Office of the President

December 22, 2021

Dear William Paterson Community,

With great concern for the health and well-being of our campus community, we have decided to shift to a Black and Orange staff work schedule, as we implemented previously, for the weeks of January 3 and January 10, 2022.  At this point, we anticipate a return to normal operations on January 18, 2022.

We will continue to monitor the data, as well as the guidance of public health officials.

We want to assure our community that the University will remain open and operational, with in-person staffing scheduled to meet institutional needs. Essential workers are expected to report to work on campus and managers/supervisors of departments and divisions will determine which staff members are needed on campus to provide necessary services and continuity. Decisions will be based on institutional needs.

All student services will be accessible both remotely and in person.

Staff members should bring home whatever they may need to work remotely for this short transitional period.

As a reminder, I will resume my weekly update emails on Monday, January 10 and communicate earlier if developments warrant.

We believe that taking these precautions now will help to ensure a healthy start to the Spring semester. I wish everyone a healthy and restful winter break.
Sincerely,

Richard J. Helldobler, Ph.D.
