Spirit Week!
UVA Virtual Middle School Visitation

This program is designed to give middle school girls a comprehensive look at engineering through hands-on demonstrations, a design activity, a speaker, lab tours, and lunch with current engineering students. The session, which is for middle school girls (6th, 7th, and 8th grades), aims to showcase the many diverse, exciting, and creative fields that comprise engineering, encouraging students to begin thinking of pursuing engineering in their futures. Camp Invention

Camp Invention will run June 22-26, 2021 in an ALL VIRTUAL format. Campers have the option of participating in daily activities from 9:00 – 3:00 each day OR they can complete activities on their own! This flexible program reinvents distance learning — it can be screen-free and self-led, or it can be enhanced through online collaboration sessions with coaches and fellow participants.

For an overview of this year's camp experience, please check out https://experience.invent.org/.

Visit invent.org/camp or call 800-968-4332 to register. Contact Amy Brudin, Camp Invention Director, if you have any questions!
Virtual 5K at Monticello High School

The Monticello High School Leadership class (home of a few Peabody alums!) is organizing a Virtual 5k to raise money for students in need of financial support to participate in athletics in high school.

We will have a (COVID-19 friendly) packet pickup/fee drop-off at MHS on April 23rd between 12:00 and 4:30, and runners will be able to participate in the event on any day during the week of April 24-30.

The price of the 5K is $20 per participant, and all funds will go directly towards benefiting Monticello High School Athletic Scholarships. We would love for as many people to participate as possible! The deadline for sign-up is this Saturday, April 10!
Neighbors-4-Neighbors School Food Drive

Each year Peabody participates in the Neighbors-4-Neighbors school food drive to support the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (BRAFB). It started in 2011 and involves many public and private elementary, middle and high schools and other community organizations. The school food drive is typically held in March and April when food donations are low.

This year Kat Ravichandran, a Peabody alum, is serving as the food drive’s student coordinator! Kat is an 11th-grade student at Albemarle High School with a strong passion for fighting food insecurity in our community.

This year’s school food drive will be held from April 12 - April 30. All food donations will benefit our neighbors in need served by 37 partner food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in the Thomas Jefferson area. Thank you in advance for your generous support to help fight hunger.

French After School Program

Peabody students in grades 2-4 are invited to join Alliance Française online for 4 weeks of French Art After-School! We will dive into a new French artist each week, with a fun craft to represent that artist’s work. We will learn lots of French along the way! All supplies are provided by the Alliance Française.

For registration and more information, please visit Frenchcville.org
We will meet once/week beginning the week of April 19th.

We look forward to having fun with you in the world of art and French!

2020-21 Annual Fund

Your participation in the Peabody Annual Fund provides essential operating support to Peabody. The generosity of our community supports almost everything that keeps Peabody running, from salaries and classroom technology to arts and supplies. This year, we are also faced with increased expenses for items such as technology infrastructure upgrades, outdoor learning spaces, additional cleaning supplies and protective equipment, and additional aid to Peabody students and families who felt the financial impact of COVID-19. We hope that you will support Peabody in this area and that you will keep in mind that your Annual Fund gift, of any size, really matters to the school.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of a gift to Peabody School for the 2020-21 year and for being such strong supporters of our wonderful school!
Have a Great Spring Break!
