THE JUDGE'S CORNER:
National Child Abuse Prevention Month
by Judge Frank Sullivan

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month which recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect and promotes the social and emotional well-being of children and families. As a community, we need to increase awareness and provide education and support to families through resources and strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect. EVERYDAY HEROES:
CASA of the Month: April 2019

PINWHEELS FOR PREVENTION

The CASA Program planted 450 blue pinwheels at Family Court on Friday,   April 12th at noon.

The pinwheel is an uplifting reminder of childhood and the bright futures all children deserve. Our helpers included: District Attorney's Office-Family Court, Rape Crisis Center, Olive Crest, DFS, Nevada CASA Association Director, multiple CASA volunteers, CASA staff & Family Court Presiding Judge Bryce Duckworth.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CASA FOUNDATION

April 9th was   Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day around the world. All donations collected at Ben & Jerry's in Henderson (District at Green Valley & Sunset Station) benefited the CASA Foundation! Many Las Vegas Celebrity Scoopers supported this charity event, and although there was a high wind warning that day, the crowds came out for their free ice cream!

Local youth, ALYSSA H. stopped by to  donate all the money she received from her Bat Mitzvah to the  CASA Foundation! Thank you!

The  CASA Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit and is not part of the CASA Program of the Eighth Judicial District Court-Family Division.
