Our virtue this month is
Each year SCS collects food items for the  St. Vincent de Paul Society who makes baskets for those in need in our church parish.

This is a perfect time to teach your children to be  THANKFUL/Grateful  for what they have and to share with those who are less fortunate. We ask that you start sending in food next week (week of Nov. 11). There will be collection baskets or boxes in each homeroom to receive your donations.

The students will present the donations at church at our 9am school mass on Friday, November 22nd.

The food pantry is looking for items used at Thanksgiving meals and items with high protein. Any items that are expired need to be thrown away, so please be generous.
Here are some ideas:

  • turkey gravy

National Vocation Awareness Week is an annual celebration of the Catholic Church dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education.

Here are some suggestions for how you may celebrate this week at home:

  • Set aside time each week/month to pray together as a family.
  • Create a family vocation prayer & pray it regularly.
  • Look up the baptism date of each family member. Look at pictures of the special day.
  • Create a paper chain with names of the people in your family and their vocation.
  • Invite a parish priest, sister, brother, or deacon to your home for a meal and ask them to share their vocation story.
  • Write a thank you note to the priests or deacons in your parish.
  • Write a thank you note to lay ministers in your church.
