This Week's Service:
And They Said...

A service for Mother's Day, "working women", old broads, their children -and much more. Rev. Martha Munson.

This Week's Drop-In Discussion: Animal Contradictions by Kimberly Finch. In the Fall 2013 UU World, Kimberly Finch subtitles her article "How Unitarian Universalism can help us sort out our place in the animal world." Later in her article, she writes, "It's not our relationship with animals we need to rethink. We are animals." Join David Damico as he facilitates a discussion on this article.

Settled Minister Announcement

We are thrilled to announce that First Universalist called the Rev. Celie Katovitch  to be our new settled minster by a unanimous congregational vote on May 4th. Rev. Katovitch will start her ministry with us in August. You can find more information about Rev. Katovitch at the church web site uuroc.org

On behalf of the congregation, the Board of Trustees offers our deep gratitude to the Ministerial Search Committee for their dedication and talents resulting in the successful call of Rev. Katovitch.

We are also profoundly grateful to Rev. Martha Munson for her skilled guidance and support as Interim Minister to prepare us for this exciting new phase of ministry.

Joyfully,
Ed Deller,
President  First Universalist

Two Garden Opportunities

You may want to choose one or both:

1. We will meet with Lori Staubitz Thursday, May 15 at noon, to discuss how to manage our alcove Lots of Food garden this summer, accomodating  the roof work. All parties interested in the alcove garden are encouraged to attend. You will be able to sign up for watering over the summer at this time.

2. Join us for spring clean up on May 17th, 9:15-12. There will be some annuals to plant in the Court St. planters--or bring some to plant; one planter is sunny and two are very shady. We will spruce up the flower garden, weed the alcove garden. Sign up for watering over the summer. There will not be tons to do so you might cover some of the other church jobs, too.
