Support Telecommunicators by Writing Your Senators and Representatives Asking Them to Support the
9-1-1 Saves Act

Currently, the federal government classifies 9-1-1 operator positions as administrative/clerical in nature, in the same group for secretaries, office clerks, and taxi cab dispatchers.

This classification is inaccurate and a disservice to the lifesaving work of these dedicated professionals. APCO International and TMA are seeking support for the bipartisan, bicameral 9-1-1 Saves Act . This is a zero-cost bill that would fix the federal classification by appropriately grouping Public Safety Telecommunicators with other “protective” occupations.

Please support this bill by sending a letter of support to those representatives who support the act, or a letter requesting their support, or visit the APCO website to fill out the simple dynamic forms from the links below to show support!

July is UV Safety Month
Summer is in full swing and most of us are enjoying taking in those beautiful, warm summer rays. As carefree as summer should be, we should never forget to protect our eyes and skin from the damaging effects of the sun...
GMS Tip of the Month - Benefit of using Door Chime
With Summer upon us, kids are in and out of the house. Make sure to recommend to your clients turning on their door chime feature to alert every time the doors open. It’s another way to keep close tabs on small children and give a heads up in case a pet has a tendency to escape when the door opens.
