Be the Kind Kid

The  #bethekindkid movement was started by two students and a teacher at Avonworth School District. Their message is simple: Be Kind!

We are now partnering with Avonworth to continue to spread the important message of kindness. To help spread the message, our staff at IMS wears #bethekindkid t-shirts every Wednesday, #wearitwednesday.

We would now like to offer the opportunity for students to purchase #bethekindkid t-shirts to help spread the message of kindness. If you or your child is interested in purchasing a #bethekindkid shirt,  complete the order form.

T-Shirt Information

Cost: $8 per shirt
Checks payable to: Ingomar Middle School (Please write child's first and last name in MEMO).
Students can drop their cash/money off in the main office
Student-Athletes

For all of our IMS Athletes, there are different ways to learn about dismissals and cancellations.
  • In the morning, you will be able to access or hear the sports section of the announcements. The announcements will have a list of early dismissals for all teams.
  • In Blackboard under IMS Students, there is a Sports Information section. Blackboard will have the most up-to-the-minute information. In that section, there are links to the weekly sports schedule, event times, and bus pickup times. Information about a possible weather cancellation will also be posted here.
  • It is up to athletes to check this periodically throughout the day. We also typically make announcements about cancellations.
Attendance Information

If possible please email all attendance notes (early dismissals and excuses) to our new email alias at IMSattendance@northallegheny.org. You can also send a note to school with your child. All early dismissals and tardies require a note.
Pittsburgh Pirates In-Game Host Speaking at IMS

Ingomar is looking forward to welcoming Pittsburgh Pirates in-game host Joe Klimchak on Friday, September 6, for Proud to be Ingomar Day. During Mr. Klimchak’s presentation, a professional videographer will be filming the assembly and may get additional footage of Mr. Klimchak greeting students before or after the presentation. As a result, your child’s likeness, name, and age may be published in the segment, and your child may be interviewed by Mr. Klimchak. If your child is selected for an interview, we will notify individual parents/guardians if the footage is selected to be used.

If you do not want your child included in this opportunity, please email communicationsdept@northallegheny.org before 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 5.

District Updates
Updates to Emergency Contact Information in Tyler SIS

Emergency contact information in Tyler SIS needs to be reviewed at the beginning of each school year. This information includes phone numbers (home/work/cell), email addresses, and emergency contacts. Additionally, parents/guardians can designate individuals who are permitted to pick up their student from school. This is especially important for emergency situations as students will not be released to individuals who are not listed within the Tyler SIS account. These updates cannot be made in the Tyler 360 app.
