Letter from our PTA Board

Dear Puesta del Sol Families,

We are happy to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. You have joined a special community that is head above the rest in spirit, support, and camaraderie. From kindergarten play-dates to field day, you may notice a special bond which is Puesta del Sol. We have a unique staff and curriculum like no other school in our area. Considering this, our PTA strives to provide an extra layer of support to all our students and teachers.

Our PTA board has been back to work this summer to prepare for another great year of programs, family events, and improved communications and fundraising methods. We have a few goals for this year:  Simplify, Engage, Promote School Spirit, and Educate.

Simplify:  Our Back to School Forms are streamlined and we have highlighted the most important content. For more information about our PTA you may visit our PTA Website . We hope to be concise in our messaging through our bi-monthly el Sol Newsletter.

Engage:  We hope to engage all our families through events, programming, communications, and volunteering (from home and at school). Our PTA is always looking for more helpers for large and small jobsPlease email volunteer@puestadelsolpta.org , if you have a special talent or passion to contribute.

School Spirit:   We will be adding Spirit Wear sales this year!  Beyond Spirit Wear, our Director of Events, Carmel Sasaki, is planning our back to school Coffees and Ice Cream Social. She also hopes to promote more fun-filled events; including Movie Nights, Family Fun Nights, and maybe a Winter Dance??

Educate:   We are always striving to provide the best after-school programs, educational enhancement, and cultural experiences on- and off-campus for our students. We also care about our parents and care-givers. We hope to inform our families better about our PTA through PTA "spotlights" on Facebook.  If you are wondering "Where is our money spent?" or "What does the PTA offer my student?"... Those answers are already at your finger tips on our Fundraising Page.

Now is the time to complete the Back to School Forms , which are now LIVE.  You may order a yearbook, Spirit Wear, become a PTA member, Donate to our PTA, and sign up to Volunteer all in one place.

We wish you a wonderful start of the school year at Puesta del Sol!
