A Word from the President
According to the latest available Census data, more women than men are now entering college.  But for too many women in Wyandotte County - especially single, working mothers - the cost of postsecondary education is prohibitive.

That's why it's so gratifying to give a hand up to non-traditional women furthering their education, which we do each year by providing scholarships to help with tuition and books.  On August 26 we held our annual Scholarship Awards luncheon to recognize the eight scholarship recipients this year, with our own Mayor Alvey providing remarks.

If you haven't registered yet for our annual fundraiser for our scholarship program, do it now!  The event, Purses with a Purpose, will be held on Oct. 16, 5:30 - 8:00, at the KCK Community College Technical Education Center. It's a fun evening with wine, food, fun, auctions (especially purses!) and a great program. We'll see you then!
