Campus Return Update for
Upper School Students
Dear Husky Community,

We are excited to welcome our students back to campus in just a few short days starting on April 26. In preparation for reopening, there are several logistical items to cover. Please review the below information carefully with your child(ren).
Student Group Designations

Your child’s group placement (Blue or Gray) has been added to Blackbaud. The BLUE group will attend school in person on Mondays and Tuesdays. The GRAY group will attend school in person on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you have elected to remain in distance learning, you may join the on-campus cohort at any time by contacting Jennifer Stroud or Justin Flamini. All students have been assigned to the Blue or Gray groups regardless of their choosing to be on-campus or virtual to ease the process of joining the on-campus group in the future. We have worked diligently to maximize academic success and flexibility while managing the social-emotional well-being of our students in determining group assignments. We also wanted to keep certain groups together, such as small classes, lab classes, athletics, and siblings. Due to the numerous factors considered when assigning groups, we are unable to adjust group placements.

Each student's group designation is indicated in their Blackbaud account and a tutorial for accessing that information is included at the very bottom of this letter.

What to Know for When You Come to Campus

Below, you will find a link to our "On Campus Safety" Packet that outlines the health and safety protocols regarding returning to campus. Please review this carefully as a family, as it describes campus procedures and expectations. Students will also receive a hard copy of this packet when they return to campus on the first day. Both parents and students will need to sign and return the last page of the packet to ensure understanding.
Please note that students will need to bring all school materials with them each day. Upper School students will have access to lockers, but items such as laptops, chargers, headphones, calculators, books, pens, pencils, binders, paper, and any class-specific supplies should be brought to school each day.

Please note that Fridays will remain as virtual office hours. All students will join their classes from home on Fridays following this year’s standard block schedule.

To avoid having guests on campus, we will not be offering food services. Students will need to bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle each day. Microwaves and refrigerators will not be available for student use, so please pack lunch and snacks that do not require heating or refrigeration. We cannot allow any food delivery services such as GrubHub or Postmates. We also ask that parents refrain from dropping off lunch, as we cannot have guests entering campus.
Transportation

Bus transportation will be available for those that indicated the need in our transportation survey. We will not be offering a PV route until next school year. The cost for the remainder of the year will be $375. We are currently developing the routes and will announce the Pick-Up/Drop-off spots early next week. If you are not taking advantage of the bus service we ask that students arrive to campus by 7:45 AM so that they have time to check-in and get to class on time. Upperclassmen who are able to drive may do so, but may not drive others from outside of their household.
Before Coming to Campus

School Pass is an app that will allow students to complete the COVID questionnaire before arriving on campus each day. Details on downloading the app, registering with our school, and how to login will be provided next week in a separate email communication.

Lastly, we want to ensure that all returning students receive a negative COVID test before returning. Complimentary on-campus testing will be available next Wednesday, April 21 from 2:00- 4:30 PM. Students may also be tested independently if they are unable to make an appointment in this timeframe. Moving forward, testing will be available on campus every Monday and Wednesday. Students are required to get tested every two weeks but can test elsewhere if that is more convenient for them.

Click the button below to learn more about our on-campus testing and appointment scheduling.
Further Questions

Much of this information was covered within the Student Town Hall, but if you have additional questions please reach out to Justin Flamini, Jennifer Stroud, or Jeff Peterson. The button below will take you to the recording of the Student Town Hall meeting that took place Thursday morning. Numerous details were covered and a Q&A follow up will take place next week to answer any questions that arise.
We look forward to welcoming our students back to campus.

Sincerely,

The Admin Team
