Sabrina Boone
Hello my name is Sabrina and I have held the Office Administrator position at United Way Southeast Alaska since the last week in April of 2019. I am very excited to be working in the Juneau community. My family has long running roots in Juneau and I am happy to be back home after spending some time in the lower 48 traveling and going to school. I graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2015 with a degree in Public Health and a Psychology focus. Much of my professional work has been centered around working with those who suffer from persistent mental health ailments in an outpatient setting. In addition, I have worked with many individuals, assisting them in navigating and obtaining a multitude of social services within the community. I am looking forward to my continued work here at UWSEAK. In addition, I am excited to be a part of the continued growth and collaboration that United Way brings to its Southeast communities.
On a personal note I love cooking and traveling to new places and meeting people from different cultures. I enjoy a night in of Netflix and chill and of course chocolate and a fresh croissant. During the winter I like to hit the mountain and during the summer I have fun visiting with friends, fishing, and spending time with family.

Shari Paul
I have officially been the new Program Manager for AmeriCorps since mid - June and though it has been a bit of a learning curve transitioning into this position, the support I have received has been overwhelming and much appreciated.
I moved to Juneau in 1984 - right after I graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin. It was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to stay! Over the last 30+ years (Yikes!), a large percentage of my employment revolved around children, families and education. A majority of my work has been in the legislative and government world, plus a few years of contract work while I raised my two daughters. Most recently, I spent 4 years immersed working for and with Lt. Governor Byron Mallott. From January-June, I worked with Joy Lyon at AEYC in developing community supports to meet childcare needs.
I am now officially an "empty-nester," and will be adjusting to this new found 'freedom.'  For fun, I volunteer a lot, garden, hike, play pickle ball and enjoy spending time with friends.
I believe 110 percent in the philosophy of AmeriCorps, but most of all sharing the cultural diversity and its unique quirks that make Juneau our home.  Over the years, AmeriCorps members have and will continue to make our community even more special by bringing their talents, enthusiasm, and desire to live and serve in our hometown.

Do you know where you can go to learn all of the ways you can be active in the community?

Keep an eye out for this feature in our next newsletter as well as on our social media accounts, which you can find links to here.

We at the United Way of Southeast Alaska are thankful for all of our supporters, volunteers, and donors who have chosen to advocate on our behalf all these years.
