Elder Services Fall 2019 Seminar on October 10th
Don't miss this year's Senior Fall Seminar at the Morris Firehall on October 10th, 10-1:30pm. RSVP's are required by calling 570-723-0520. Light refreshments are being provided by Guardian Eldercare. Open to all senior citizens, their families and caretakers, this is an opportunity to hear from experts on topics such as power-of-attorney, elder law and wills, and prescription drug take back initiatives. Also this year, come out to meet and hear from PA State Representative Clint Owlett!

KinConnector Helpline for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
The opioid crisis has put stress on families and especially extended family members who take on the care of children whose parents have fallen into addiction. Now the KinConnector hotline is offering help. Learn about how this Pennsylvania Dept. of Human Services hotline is assisting in this time of crisis.

September is Recovery Month
Celebrate Recovery Month at these community events and trainings that focus on helping our community to recover from the opioid crisis. Recovery Month is a national initiative of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) that seeks to increase awareness and celebrate successes of those in recovery. Take part in these local events: The Rally for Serenity fall festival will take place on Sept. 28th in Elkland, 10-6pm. See the graphic and printable flyer link below. Also, two training opportunities are coming up. Consider bringing the Celebrate Recovery program to your church or community group. The Tioga County chapter of the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children is also offering a free training to all who want to learn how to support our local kids. Details for both of these trainings are below. Get involved, offer a helping hand, and celebrate recovery for all of those in our community!

National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Training- hosted by Tioga County's DEC, this training is free of charge, open to ALL, and is taking place in two evening sessions from 6-8pm, on October 28th at North Penn Mansfield High School and on October 29th at Elkland High School. Awareness Is Key

While recovery from addiction and mental health disorders is cause to celebrate, we need to be keenly aware of the issues we are recovering from. While National Overdose Awareness Day was this past weekend, two other September observations are bringing awareness to the high risk implications of drinking while pregnant and suicide risk. Bridges Out Of Poverty Training Coming to Tioga Co.
The Bridges out of Poverty training was developed by Dr. Ruby Payne, a very seasoned professional educator who has served in many different capacities and provides incredibly valuable insights into poverty situations. Do you know how to best communicate with someone who lives with the daily struggles that poverty presents? Is your community or workplace set up in a way to help people emerge from poverty? Gain insight and learn how to help others see that there IS a way--- there are Bridges out of Poverty. Plan on attending! No registration needed! October 11th, 8:30-3:30pm, at the Deane Center, Main Street, Wellsboro.
