HDLGBA Presents Check for Street Lights

The Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association (HDLGBA) presented the Village of Long Grove with a check for $60,000 to help offset the cost for new lighting in the downtown. Representatives from the HDLGBA thank all who support the downtown by sipping, shopping, dining, and attending their special events that made this donation possible. The donated funds will go toward the roughly $8 million in improvements the Village of Long Grove has funded over the last few years to continue to beautify and improve aesthetics of the downtown area to support growth and commerce.

Scarecrow engineers are invited to amass outside The Country House (430 Robert Parker Coffin Road) in the heart of downtown between 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to build their own custom scarecrows (and get a free pumpkin while supplies last -  compliments of Weichert Real Estate). Each set of builders will receive a wood base, a bale of hay, and building guidance; however, participants are asked to bring old clothing, shoes, hats, gloves, and accessories to dress their creations to their liking! Thereafter, all scarecrows are propped up throughout downtown Long Grove for the rest of the month adding to the colorful Halloween Town backdrop.
