Advisory: Moraga Road Closure
Moraga Road will be closed TODAY from 9am to 4:30pm between Sky High and Silver Springs. The City of Lafayette is closing the road for maintenance work. Please use alternate routes.

We have a race for everyone!
5K 8am start, 10K 8:15am start, 2mile 8:45am start
Dogs and strollers welcome on the 10K and 2 mile only. No bikes, scooters or skateboards on any of the races. 10K is the only race that goes around the Reservoir.

Pre-Race Packet pickup will be held at the Lafayette Chamber Office, 251 Lafayette Circle, Ste 150 on Thursday and Friday Oct. 17-18, 9am-6pm and Saturday Oct. 19, 9am-3pm.

41st Annual Community Thanksgiving Breakfast

Pivotal Twist with “The Strangers of Kindness.” In his 20 minute talk, Sean Perlmutter will discuss the challenges to kindness, why they need to be overcome, and how to make kindness a core part of your daily existence.

Lafayette Professionals Group

Fall Community Waste Reduction Grant
Republic Services will award a community waste reduction project within the RecycleSmart service area with a $1,500 grant. Projects must be related to recycling, composting or other waste-reduction initiatives. These can be new projects or existing projects that need some help expanding. The application is open for submissions until Friday, October 18. The winner will be selected based on public voting by Central Contra Costa residents, on
ContraCostaRecycles.com from Nov 1-30, in conjunction with our Recycling Pledge.

This talk covers common vegetable growing problems and how to correct them. You will learn what causes tomatoes to crack, why zucchinis sometimes shrivel and die and why broccoli and cauliflower sometimes produce only tiny heads. Learn why onions often produce flowers and fail to develop good bulbs. You’ll hear about solutions to these and other vegetable crop problems and also receive suggestions for what vegetables to plant for the most reliable results.
