Chalice Circle Sign-up Continues this Sunday, September 1
On Sunday, September 1, between services in the Commons, members and friends will have the opportunity to sign up for Chalice Circles, which meet September through May. Chalice Circles are small groups that practice deep listening. Participation is a spiritual practice for some; for all, it is a way to listen deeply to others' stories and to be heard respectfully by others. Groups meet once or twice monthly for two hours, at various places and times.
For any questions, please contact one of the co-chairs:
Anne Haynes,  anne.haynes3@gmail.com , or Linda Pickle,  linda.pickle@wku.edu .
UU Freethinkers Meet September 1 at 12:45 pm
The UU Freethinkers discussion group will meet this Sunday at 12:45 pm in Room 208 for an open and non-structured discussion of issues of social, political, and theological/religious concern.

Our Folks...
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Jack Harlow and family upon the passing of his wife Marcia earlier this week. A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, October 5.
Jeff Stone, our custodian, will be out for the next 3-6 weeks as he recovers from surgery. We wish him all the best for quick healing. While he is away there will be a large group of people accomplishing all the tasks he usually takes care of for us by himself!
The Church Office will be closed Monday, September 2.
Shambhala Meditation will not meet on Monday, September 2.
Women's Alliance Meets September 5 at 11:30 am
The program for the Women's Alliance on Thursday, September 5 will be presented by Carey Beam Champion, Director of Wylie House Museum, on Sarah Parke Morrison and early female students at Indiana University. Ms. Morrison was the first woman to receive a degree from Indiana University, in 1869. Bring a brown bag lunch; beverage and dessert will be provided. All are welcome!

Recipes Needed for Cookbook
The Help Feed Your Hungry Neighbors Task Force is soliciting recipes for our latest fundraiser, a cookbook that will hit the shelves in December, available for sale at our annual Holiday Bazaar. Send recipes to Mary Blizzard, maryblizzard6 (at) gmail.com. Deadline is September 15. Here's a poster!
New! Drop-in Childcare on Wednesdays, 6-8 pm
We are now offering free drop-in childcare on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Room 108.  Parents must remain on site --on the building grounds or in the building. Please use the Courtyard Entrance. We hope to provide a moment for parents to breathe deeply, have a cup of tea with a friend, or sit in silence before running children to the next event. The Meeting Room will be available for quiet meditation.  Contact Adrienne Summerlot with any questions or ideas you may have:   dre@uubloomington.org.
Your Pledge Dollars at Work
We've been working in the Meeting Room this week on worship-enhancing changes, including re-installing the fall/winter window insert, created by Steve Krahnke. All this is supported by your pledges.
