HCL Serves at Thrivent Faith Build
On the first Saturday in August, six HCL members joined a team from Whitefish Bay United Methodist to help put siding on one of 100 homes in the Midtown neighborhood. Thrivent plans to build or rehab 100 homes in this neighborhood over a three year period.

Positive results of this movement:
  • Builds homeowner networks, improves health and safety, and supports beautification projects throughout Midtown.
  • Replicates the 48% decrease in crime on the blocks where Thrivent built in the Washington Park neighborhood.
  • Transforms blocks of empty lots in Midtown into the highest concentration of affordable single-family homes built in Milwaukee since WWII.
Living Life On Mission
Sorá Panama - February 17-24, 2020
Is God calling you to something new, something different, maybe a little out of your comfort zone? If that's the case and you would like to get out of Wisconsin in the middle of winter, we invite you to join our February Panama mission team! A typical trip includes VBS at a local school and at Emanuel Lutheran Church. There will also be outreach opportunities with an expat community up the road.
