Fostering Healthy Mental, Emotional, and Behavioral Development in Children and Youth: A National Agenda
The National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recently released a consensus study report providing a framework for a cohesive, multidisciplinary national approach to improving mental, emotional, and behavioral health. It identifies the complexities of childhood influences and highlights the need for a tailored approach when implementing new policies and practices.

State Suicide Prevention Infrastructure Recommendations
Working with a  panel of experts , SPRC developed recommendations around six key elements that help identify and strengthen infrastructure and hopefully lead to more effective, comprehensive, and sustained suicide prevention.

Whole-Family Wellness for Early Childhood: A New Model for Medi-Cal Delivery and Financing
The California Children's Trust released a concept paper proposing a paradigm shift in how California conceptualizes, delivers, and funds a system of care for Medi-Cal-eligible infants and toddlers and their families, grounded in family wellness. The proposal puts forth the idea of a single system of wellness and a new administrative and financing model

Guidance to States and School Systems on Addressing Mental Health and Substance Use Issues in Schools
In August, the FCC staff sent a recommendation to Congress that designating a 3-digit number for a National Suicide Prevention Hotline would improve access for Americans in crisis.

School Success: An Opportunity for Population Health
In 2018, the National Academies convened a workshop to discuss how efforts within the health sector can support children’s education from pre-K through 12th grade and to explore the barriers between these sectors. The committee also examined case examples of health-education collaboration and opportunities in policy and released its detailed discussions.

Dropout Prevention Resources
CDE recently expanded their resources listing programs and services that provide student support, train staff, and improve school climate to prevent students from dropping out of school and to recover those who have left to help them complete their education.

Advancing Comprehensive School Mental Health Systems: Guidance from the Field
A partnership of national, state, and local school mental health leaders and organizations contributed to developing a new resource to help strengthen efforts and to start understanding and bringing consensus to the quality domains of school mental health.

CLAS Toolkit: Advancing Health Equity and Racial Justice in Children's Behavioral Health
The CONNECTing Children and Families to Care initiative published a free, self-guided toolkit designed to help child- and family-serving organizations develop their own Health Equity Plans to advance health equity and to reduce racial injustice and health disparities within their organizations, services, and communities.

Funding Supports and Services for Young People Transitioning from Foster Care
ChildTrends released an in-depth report identifying policy issues for the child welfare field to consider as they seek to improve services and supports for young people transitioning from care. The report highlights how eight jurisdictions are using existing funding sources to serve this population and examine the funding challenges they continue to face.

Missed Opportunities: Pathways from Foster Care to Youth Homelessness in America
This seventh in a series of Research-to-Impact briefs highlights actions that child welfare systems can take to prevent young people who have experienced foster care from becoming homeless, regardless of how they exited.

National Center for Youth Opportunity and Justice Training Network
Ongoing
The National Center for Youth Opportunity and Justice develops and supports a national network of trainers for professionals working with adolescents experiencing behavioral health and traumatic stress conditions in juvenile justice, school, and community settings. Each network offers a certification process, ongoing mentorship from national experts, access to annually updated curricula and resources, and continuing education opportunities for certified trainers.

Care Integration Best Practices: Care Coordination Approaches for Children with Moderate to Intensive Behavioral Health Challenges
