AUGUST NEWSLETTER

School is starting up again and summer light is fading as days become cooler. Even though the Guild does not schedule a program meeting in August, it's always time to make books! And there are important events to work towards as you design your book projects for right now.

First up is the Celebration of Handmade Books, sponsored by If Only...a fine store. This event features books made by members of Northwoods Book Arts Guild and will provide a popular First Friday destination on November 4, 2016. Guild members are invited to submit up to three books to this terrific celebration of what we love to do!

And it's not too early to start thinking about the Guild's upcoming exhibition of books, Books as Art 2, at Well Street Art Co. in June of 2017. Look for more information about this opportunity in the fall. The prospectus and entry form will be available at our meetings, in the NBG Studio, and on the Guild's website.

Take a look at the workshops offered by our Fairbanks Arts Association (see below).  They both offer opportunities to learn about presenting your work professionally. Thank you, Fairbanks Arts Association for organizing these terrific workshops!
