Congratulations Tim Ma, PE
Tim Ma recently passed the Connecticut State Licensing Examination and is now a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Connecticut. Tim joined the firm in 2016 and in 2018 he was promoted to Project Engineer. He is presently working on projects that include The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, NY, BOCES in Poughkeepsie, NY and the Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers, NY.

Stephen Lehigh, PE

Steve Lehigh, PE has been with The Di Salvo Engineering Group since May 2015. Steve came with 15 years of experience and has an extensive background in temporary shoring design, support of excavation and underpinning design. In 2018 Steve and his wife Kendra moved to Colorado and Steve is now heading our Castle Rock, Colorado office.

Steve is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Colorado, Connecticut and New York. He is affiliated with ACEC of CT, AIA Colorado and SEA of Colorado. He was recently chosen to serve on the NCEES PE Civil Structural Committee. 

Steve's favorite part of his job is working with the TDEG team to design complex structures, solving design issues and having the opportunity to leave an impact in the community. In his spare time Steve likes to ski in the winter and ride his motorcycle and play golf during the summer months. He lives just a couple of miles from the office in Castle Rock with his wife Kendra and their two cats.
ACEC/CT Engineering Excellence
Merit Award
TDEG was honored to receive the 2020 ACEC/CT Engineering Excellence Merit Award for the structural design of Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT. The impressive new building opened in time for the 2018-2019 school year. TDEG worked closely with the architectural firm of Antinozzi Associates of Bridgeport for the design of the school.

Wilton YMCA Addition
Wilton, CT
Several significant enhancements were made to the Wilton YMCA including a two-story addition to connect the gym, swimming pools and fitness areas. The new addition has increased the building size by a total of 8,700 square feet. Improvements were also made to the parking and drop-off areas outside the building.

Accurate Lock and Hardware
Building 5
Stamford, CT
The hardware manufacturing firm is undertaking the construction of a new two-story building on their site in Stamford, CT. The lower level will house 10,000 square feet of manufacturing and material handling space while the upper level will be used for receiving, warehouse and outdoor parking. The new building will be connected to the main plant by a pedestrian bridge.

On The Boards:
School of the Holy Child
Rye, NY

Plans are underway for a renovation project at The School of the Holy Child in Rye, NY. Part of the existing school will be demolished and a new two-story building will be constructed. The plans also include a new courtyard and a footbridge over a pond on the property.

2020 Building Code of New York State Effective May 12, 2020

The current 2018 Building Code of New York State (BCNYS) is scheduled to be changed to the 2020 Building Code of New York State on May 12, 2020. The new Code will be comprised of the 2018 International Code Council (ICC) model codes with Amendments. 

The 2020 NYS Code Books can be viewed for free on the International Code Council (ICC) website at: International Code Council.org  
(click “current adoption” from the drop down menu titled “Year” on the left of the page), or purchase at : Shop.ICCSafe.org .

The effective date of the 2020 NYS Code Books will be May 12, 2020. There will be no transition period. Beginning on May 12, 2020, regulated parties submitting building permit applications must comply with the 2020 NYS Code Books.
