LAUNCHing in Storrs: Changing Your Schedule
Although you are able to make changes to your schedule, we encourage you to be thoughtful as you examine the reasons you seek to make those changes. You collaborated with your advisor at Orientation to design a schedule that would lay a foundation for a strong first semester. Before you left, advisors checked that schedule again to ensure that the courses aligned with your academic goals and showed a balanced workload.
Thinking About Changing Your Fall Schedule?
Keep in Mind:

  • You must be enrolled in 12+ credits to be considered a full-time student.

  • We don't generally recommend students change their schedules once the semester begins.
  • Of course, if your scheduling needs or academic interests have changed, that's ok! If you wish to swap a course or two, stop by and speak with your Advisor during Open Advising Hours.

  • Use good judgement when deciding if a schedule change is truly necessary.
  • Switching into a class after it has already met once or twice may put you at a disadvantage. Professors are not obligated to catch you up on work or information you may have missed.

  • UNIV 1800 and 1810 are strongly recommended for a reason - dropping them will put you at a disadvantage in your professional development journey.

  • Dropping a difficult class is not the only solution!
  • If you are nervous about math or writing courses, you are not alone. Get help by visiting the Q Center or Writing Center on your campus.
